DR JULIAN RODRIGUES

Consultant Neurologist

Dr Julian Rodrigues completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1995 at the University of Western Australia and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2004. He undertook further training in the subspecialty field of movement disorders in WA, including botulinum toxin therapy, electrophysiology and deep brain stimulation (DBS). Further experience with DBS was obtained at large volume centres in Sydney, Brisbane and Kiel (Germany).

Practising primarily at Hollywood Consulting Centre and Hollywood Private Hospital as a Perth Neurologist, Dr Rodrigues holds neurology consultant appointments at the Fiona Stanley Hospital Department of Neurology, Joondalup Health Campus and Neurosciences Queensland.

As part of his clinical and research work Dr Rodrigues has published articles in scientific journals, presented at various national and international meetings, and written a parkinson’s disease manual  for Australian GPs found here. He undertakes regular teaching of medical students, allied health staff, nurses and junior doctors.

Dr Rodrigues remains actively involved in promoting awareness of neurological diseases and clinical research via media interviews, presentations to community groups including schools, patient support groups and science promotion events. He is a past council member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists (ANZAN), past Secretary of the Movement Disorder Society of Australia (MDSA), and a member of various advisory boards in the  field of Movement Disorders.

Dr Kuhilan Gounder

Consultant Neurologist

Dr Kuhilan Gounder (MBBS FRACP) is a neurologist with subspecialty interests in migraine headache, cognition, and Nerve Conduction Studies/Electromyography.

After graduating from the University of Western Australia, he completed his core years of neurology training at Fiona Stanley Hospital, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Royal Perth Hospital. He then undertook a fellowship in neurophysiology, neuromuscular and neuroimmunology with the Royal Hobart Hospital and Launceston General Hospital in Tasmania, followed by a fellowship in behavioural neurology at Baycrest Health Sciences and the University of Toronto in Toronto, Canada.

Dr Gounder is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists (ANZAN) and the Australian and New Zealand Headache Society (ANZHS).

DR CARMEN QUADROS

Headache Physician

Dr Carmen Quadros graduated from UWA in 1996 and has had a wonderful and varied career in General Practice. Dr Quadros is extremely passionate about improving the health of marginalised populations and has worked in Aboriginal, mental health, adolescent and homeless healthcare. She continues to provide sessional medical services to a women’s prison and homeless healthcare and joined Perth Migraine Specialist in 2021.

“The headache clinic is a new and exciting challenge for me which also allows me to work with my good friends in a collegiate, supportive and happy workplace. It is very rewarding to help improve people’s quality of life in this role, often after long term suffering.”

Outside of work Dr Quadros is a busy Mum to 3 beautiful kids and Sherman the German our beloved daschi/ human.

DR CHRIS TEIXEIRA

DR CHRIS TEIXEIRA

Headache Physician

Dr Teixeira graduated from UWA in 1995 and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She has worked in a number of General Practice settings with particular interests in prevention and management of chronic disease, women’s health, family medicine and homeless health. Dr Teixeira provides sessional medical services to Homeless Healthcare and joined Perth Migraine Specialist in 2021.

When not working Dr Teixeira enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Favourite pastimes include walking her dog Chilli, gardening and travelling.
